Gunboat Diplomacy Houserules
Regular Diplomacy rules and Diplomacy 2000 houserules apply except for the
following:
- All players' identities will be kept secret until the end of the game.
- There is to be no diplomacy between players. If you accidentally find out who a fellow player is then you must not talk to him about the game. If you do you will be ejected.
- Avoid obvious deliberate misorders. For example in Spring 1901 if Italy orders A(Ven) s RUSSIAN A(Gal)-Vie [to tell Russia he wants an alliance against Austria] this will be reported as A(Ven) stands [the GM might also report this as a misorder]. However if Austria orders F(Tri)-Alb and Italy A(Ven) s AUSTRIAN F(Tri) then the latter will simply be reported as a misorder.
- Your GM might not allow frivolous game end proposals. For example a two way draw proposed in Spring 1901.
- Players may submit humorous press as long as this cannot be construed as negotiation.
- Deadlines will normally be weekly but as soon as the GM gets a full set of orders he may adjudicate.
If there are any questions check with your GM.
