Gunboat Diplomacy Houserules

Regular Diplomacy rules and Diplomacy 2000 houserules apply except for the following:

  1. All players' identities will be kept secret until the end of the game.
  2. There is to be no diplomacy between players. If you accidentally find out who a fellow player is then you must not talk to him about the game. If you do you will be ejected.
  3. Avoid obvious deliberate misorders. For example in Spring 1901 if Italy orders A(Ven) s RUSSIAN A(Gal)-Vie [to tell Russia he wants an alliance against Austria] this will be reported as A(Ven) stands [the GM might also report this as a misorder]. However if Austria orders F(Tri)-Alb and Italy A(Ven) s AUSTRIAN F(Tri) then the latter will simply be reported as a misorder.
  4. Your GM might not allow frivolous game end proposals. For example a two way draw proposed in Spring 1901.
  5. Players may submit humorous press as long as this cannot be construed as negotiation.
  6. Deadlines will normally be weekly but as soon as the GM gets a full set of orders he may adjudicate.

If there are any questions check with your GM.
