The story begins one summer evening.........
as we were all at home watching television when an advert came on showing a Dalmatian, I passed a simple comment about knowing someone at work that owned a Dalmatian and Chris stated that she had always wanted one.
So after a phone call we all made our way down to Surrey. There a little black & white puppy dog that immediately started trying to eat my laces met me. This was the one for me but all I had to do was persuade Chris. Not too many problems in that department.

A couple of weeks later and we returned to Surrey and collected our little bundle of fun. We had previously decided to call the new puppy, Deck, the first letter of each of our names, as we wanted the puppy to feel part of the family.
We were persuaded to show Deck although neither of us knew the first thing about it and on the 25/2/95 Deck was shown for the first time at the Barking Canine Club Open Show under the late Mrs. Gene Cresswell where he won Best A.V.N.S.C. Puppy and Best Puppy in Utility Group. I was unable to show Deck on that day but my first attempt came on 04/03/95 at the Romford & District Canine Society Open Show where under Mrs Gillian Lucas he won Best Puppy in breed and also Reserve Best of Breed. The bug had bitten.....

The Future

The next part to this story is what we will do in the future?
As for Deck we will continue to show him hoping that his winning may continue. It is also on our minds that we are now at the stage to bring on our next Dalmatian. When this will transpire is down to Mother Nature but I have no doubt Christine will find a suitable candidate.

With Deck the father of two U.K. Champions, Buffrey Ysabelle and Buffrey Arrabelle at Daedalus, our main aim is continue the sensible breeding pattern which we have tried to adopt in our aim to better the breed first and foremost with each mating. Deck comes from a long line of established Champions on both sides of his pedigree with Ch.Theakston Tamerlan, Ch. Olympic Star of Olbero and Ch. Wardell Whatsizname all winners of Best of Breed at Crufts.
